Dear Home Office,

Please provide me with the number of EEA family permits applied for under Surinder Singh (i.e. British citizens returning to the UK with their non-EEA partners) which have been rejected since the implementation of the new 'centre of life' guidelines since 1st Jan 2014. It would be great if this information was collocated by country of application.

I trust that this information is available to the Home Office.

If this information would push the cost of my request above the FOIA limits, then please provide the information specifically about applications made in Dublin, Ireland.

Yours faithfully,

John Kelly

Dear Home Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Home Office's handling of my FOI request 'Surinder Singh: centre of life test rejections'.

In the response, you note that: "The ‘right to know’ must be balanced against the need to enable effective government and to serve the best interests of the public." Please explain to me how releasing statistics regarding the number of visas rejected does not 'enable effective government'.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/s...
