Dear Sir/Madam
I refer to your requests for information issued to Shetland Islands Council and the Shetland Health and Social Care Partnership (SHSCP), both dated 25 October 2022. Clarification is required in relation to your use of the term “surety fiduciary bonds”.
It is understood that a surety fiduciary bond may be granted where a Financial Guardian, Executor, Administrator or Trustee is appointed and financial security is required in relation to such appointment. In these situations, neither the Council, its officers, nor the SHSCP (or rather, the Shetland IJB) would be appointed to act in this capacity. Accordingly, no financial securities would be granted by the Council or SHSCP in this regard.
If your meaning of “surety fiduciary bonds” differs from the above understanding, please confirm your meaning of the term and which Council/SHSCP services this information is relevant to.
Yours sincerely
