Supporting Policy Documentation, Impact assessments etc

Currently waiting for a response from Department for Work and Pensions, they should respond promptly and normally no later than (details).

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

The DWP recently tabled an item of Secondary Legislation entitled the "The Child Support (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2018" the text of which is available here: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018...

These regulations make several changes impacting people exposed to the activities of the "Child Maintenance Service" (CMS) with the following items being the main headlines in the regulations:

- Amendments relating to the grounds for variation (Part 2 of the regulations)
- Amendments relating to deductions from Joint and Business Accounts (Part 3)
- Amendments relating to write off of Arrears of Child Support Maintenance (Part 4)
- Amendments relating to Passport Disqualification Order (Part 5)

In the accompanying Impact assessment (available here: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018...) the policy department focuses exclusively on the amendments relevant to Part 3 (deductions from bank accounts).

Please provide the following under the Freedom of Information Act

- All notes and accompanying work undertaken by those named in the Impact Assessment (Sheena Taylor, Paul Ryder, Valerie Christian, Julia Gault and Laura Webster).
- All materials relating to the impact assessments done for Parts 2,4 & 5) of the Regulations
- All notes, documents and correspondence between the "Better Regulation Unit"

Please also include minutes of meetings where this statutory instrument was discussed.

Yours faithfully,

A.James

Dear [email address] on behalf of Operations FOI Team,

I would like to request an internal review of the handling of
It is very disappointing that you have essentially refused to release the information originally requested. I simply do not accept that it would take more than 3.5 days to locate the information if you are efficient about asking the relevant people.

So, at this time I am asking for the following;

1. The full cost analysis showing the breakdown of how you arrived at your cost estimate

You say that the department did not conduct any impact assessment on Parts 2,4 and 5 of the recently passed regulations. I simply don't believe that Julia Gault' s department did not asses or consider the impact of these changes to the Child Maintenance Group (budget, headcount, increases to mandatory reconsideration etc). I did not ask only about what you were " required to publish" so please also disclose the following:

2. All documentation relating to the impact of parts 2,4 and 5 of the recently passed regulations (as referenced in my original request) whether intended for publication or not.

Yours sincerely,

A.James
