Dear Bethany McKee,

Please note I do not now require a break down of numbers per school, as I appreciate that the numbers we talking about here are minimal and may identify an individual.

To assist I require the data from academic year 2019/20 to date broken down AY on AY.

Yours sincerely,

Response
1a) Numbers less than five are generally deemed to be disclosive and hence are redacted. Where
figures have been redacted they are replaced by *.
For info, I have copied the relevant legislation on redaction due to small numbers below (and
included a link to it on the government legislation website).
Education (School and Placing Information) (Scotland) Amendment, etc. Regulations 1993 (No. 1604
(S.201)):

Exception for information based on small numbers. Nothing in any provision of the principal
Regulations so far as amended or substituted by these Regulations, shall require any person to
publish, or otherwise make publicly available, any figure, or percentage, relating to pupils in
attendance at a school which falls to be calculated by reference to one or more but less than five
such pupils.

Richard Butler, West Dunbartonshire Council

For clarity, I provide the response as it is provided to me by the relevant department.

You had submitted several FOI's at exactly the same time meaning the team were working on several, very similar items at the same time which is likely to have caused confusion with them.

Please specify which FOI you would like revisited and I will pass it on to the team for their consideration

Thanks
