Dear Ms Ogundalu
Freedom of Information request: FOI-72911
Thank you for your request dated 25 April 2023
Our response is as follows:
Please can we have the following information about adult social care for
Greenwich Borough Council ?
1.The minimum, maximum and average rates paid to independent providers for
the delivery of care and support to adults with learning disabilities,
physical disabilities and mental health?
Rates for external provision of supported living placements
Minimum weekly rate Maximum weekly Average weekly
rate rate
1) All age groups 214.28 5,991.02 1,383.19
2) 18-25 320.07 5,877.50 1,769.35
2. The minimum, maximum and average rates paid to independent providers
for the delivery of care and support to young adults 16-25 with learning
disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health?
Please see table above. Please note this relates to adults aged 18-25.
3: What are your minimum room sizes and property requirements for example,
is an open plan kitchen suitable? Do you require all ensuite and a
separate living and dining room?
Clients’ individual needs and the overall standard of accommodation are
primary factors. For clients with a Learning Disability we do not specify
ensuite, although some clients need this. We do not require self-contained
bedsits.
4: What type of supported living services are needed in Greenwich Borough
Council ? Learning disabilities, mental health, section 117, section 17,
informal?
In learning disability services there is a general oversupply of
accommodation at present. The Royal Borough of Greenwich requires good
quality accommodation and support that meets the needs of individuals with
mental health needs. However, please see Q6.
5: As a new service who do we contact about setting up a supported living
service? Is there an opportunity to have an informal discussion with
commissioners where referrals, rates, expectations and commissioning can
be discussed?
If providers want an informal conversation they can contact
[1][email address], providing details of the
client group they are looking to support and as much detail as possible
about the property they have available. However, providers should not both
the response to Q4 and to Q6.
6: What type of services are you looking to commission now, for example is
it Supported Living for Adult 18-65 for people leaving long term inpatient
treatment?
For learning disabilities, we will be reviewing the market later this year
and will publish our commissioning intentions in due course.
For working age adults with mental health needs we have a commissioned
support and accommodation pathway and spot purchase where necessary. We
will be reviewing the market in line with Health and Social Care
priorities across RBG and SEL ICB.
7: Do we need to apply for a local authority contract to order to register
as a supported living service if so where do we apply?
There is currently no such register.
8: What are the brokerage contact details.

9: Who are the mental health and learning disabilities commissioners.
Please see Q8
