In regards to the freedom of information act please can you provide the following.

How many care leavers or eligible young people 16 to 17 years are living within supported or semi supported accommodation in 2018/19

How many care leavers or eligible young people 18-24 years are living within supported or semi supported accommodation?

What is the weekly cost inclusive of support hours and accommodation for placing a 16 to 17 years within semi supported accommodation?

Please provide minimum, average and maximum costs weekly.

What is the weekly cost inclusive of support hours and accommodation for placing an adult 18 to 24 years within semi supported accommodation?

the council is required to respond to all requests for information under

Further to your request for information about 'Supported Accommodation', I
can tell you the following: -

* How many care leavers or eligible young people 16 to 17 years are
living within supported or semi supported accommodation in 2018/19?

In the annual period between 2018/19, at total of 44 young people were
placed in in supported/semi supported accommodation. 33 of these young
people were placed following self-referrals to Children Services and a
further 11 young people were placed following self-referrals to Housing.

* How many care leavers or eligible young people 18-24 years are living
within supported or semi supported accommodation?

In the annual period between 2018/2019 a total of 58 care leavers and/or
eligible young people accessed supported or semi supported
accommodation.

* What is the weekly cost inclusive of support hours and accommodation
for placing a 16 to 17 years within semi supported accommodation?
Please provide minimum, average and maximum costs weekly.

An Average £750 with Children Services/Housing would be covered as
supported exempt by way of housing benefit.

Minimum £170      Maximum £2020        Average £750

* What is the weekly cost inclusive of support hours and accommodation
for placing an adult 18 to 24 years within semi supported
accommodation? Please provide minimum, average and maximum costs

Average 14 hrs

* How do I join the “regional framework for supported accommodation for
16-17 year old care leavers?

This is a closed framework.   The contract has been extended for 2 years
and ends on 8^th January 2021.  As Staffordshire County Council are the
lead authority, providers need to register on their procurement website
for future framework notifications.

* Is the regional framework for supported accommodation, open for
accepting new providers?

The regional framework is a closed framework.  New providers can
register on the Placement Portal that will give them an opportunity to
be considered for 16-18 year olds who need emergency placements.  We
also recommend providers register with local authorities in the areas
they are interested in providing services for updates and tender
information.  The framework will reopen in 2020 ready to commence 9^th
January 2021.

* How do I gain access to “The West Midlands Placement Portal” as a new
provider?

Access to the ‘West Midlands Placement Portal’ can be gained via the
following link, however please note that currently no new registrations
are being accepted: -

We commission private residential care and supported accommodation
providers via the WM framework and spot purchase as required.

* Do organisations need to go through the tendering process to
accommodate care leavers/young people (16-24 years old) on a spot
purchase basis?

There is no tender process for spot purchasing supported accommodation
providers - all referrals for care leaver/young people placements are
uploaded to the WM Placement Portal.
