Supply teacher Spend

Please can you provide the total annual spend for supply teachers (both direct and through agencies codes E02 and E26) year by year for the last 10 years (including 09/10 if possible)
1) Please can you provide information by Local authority and
government region.
2) Please can you provide the information seperately for direct and supply teacher agencies where posible
3) Can you please give a total for these figures by both direct and
supply agencies
4) can these be for the last ten year on a year by year basis (including 09/10 if possible).

Attached are the details on spending on supply teachers and agency supply teachers in maintained schools from 2002-03 by local
authority and in England overall. These figures cover only expenditure by the schools themselves and not by the local authority.

Comparable figures from before 2002-03 are not available when the item codes you requested came into being. The 2009-10 figures are in
