Supply Staff

The request was refused by Cambridgeshire County Council.

Dear Cambridgeshire County Council,

I would like to know how much each Primary, Secondary and SEND School spent with external supply teaching agencies on the provision of supply staff (E026) from 1st September 2020 - 1st January 2021, or as comparable a period as possible.

I would (ideally) like to know how much each school spent, with each individual external provider.

Yours faithfully,

Andy Smith

FOI, Cambridgeshire County Council

Dear Andy Smith

I am writing in relation to your FOI request, FOI 1511763, submitted on
18/01/2021.

In light of recent developments with the Prime Minister announcing a new
lockdown in England, our Education Department, including Special
Educational Needs and Pupil Referral Unit, are again under great pressure
due to the continuing impact of the corona-virus pandemic. The priority of
these departments at this time must be to focus on the impact the latest
restrictions will have on our schools, the teaching staff and to the
children and young people across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

I must therefore advise that at this present time we are still unable to
provide you with a response to your Freedom of Information request. I note
from our records that your original request was sent 18/01/2021. Due to
the time that has elapsed, we would like to ask if you still require a
response, or whether you would like to take the opportunity to refine it,
or if you would be happy for us to close your request.

Please be assured that we will provide a response to your request for
information if you still require the information. We will be in touch
again as soon as we are able to and we will update you again with a likely
response date by 11/02/2021.

We would like to thank you for your patience at this difficult time and
for understanding the considerable pressure being placed on Education
resources at present. If you have any concerns, please do contact us.

Kind regards

FOI, Cambridgeshire County Council

Dear Andy Smith

Freedom of Information Act request response – Ref 1511763

Cambridgeshire County Council has now considered your request under the
Freedom of Information Act. We can confirm that we do not hold the
information requested by you. Please find our response as set out below.

Your request:

I would like to know how much each Primary, Secondary and SEND School
spent with external supply teaching agencies on the provision of supply
staff (E026) from 1st September 2020 - 1st January 2021, or as comparable
a period as possible.

I would (ideally) like to know how much each school spent, with each
individual external provider.

Our response:

We can confirm that we do not hold the requested information.

We get regular returns from schools detailing their total spend, however
we do not have a complete set of returns for the time period requested.
Also we get the returns on an individual basis and do not upload financial
information into our accounting system until the year end. Therefore we
have no consolidated reporting.

We would only be able to supply this information for an entire financial
year and it would be as a total figure spent on the CFR code E026. We do
not hold any information on suppliers; this would be held by the
individual schools in Cambridgeshire.

Please refer to the following link: [1]Home (cambridgeshire.gov.uk).

Complaints:

We hope this information is helpful but if you are unhappy with the
service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a
complaint or request a review, you should write to Information Management,
at either [2][Cambridgeshire County Council request email] or by post at Box No. OCT 1224,
Shire Hall, Cambridge CB3 0AP within 40 days of the date of this e-mail.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information
Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9
5AF, or via their website: [3]https://ico.org.uk/.

Generally, the ICO will not undertake a review or make a decision on a
request until the internal review process has been completed.

Yours sincerely
