Sunnyside, East Ardsley, Wakefield, including but not limited to WF3 2JR
The tolerable standard is a "condemnatory" standard; a house that falls below it is not acceptable as living accommodation.
Local authorities Social Housing providers have a statutory duty and specific powers to deal with houses that fall below the tolerable standard
The Housing Corporation requires housing associations to be accessible, accountable and transparent to residents and other stakeholders.
The National Housing Federation Code of Governance states that associations should operate in an open and accountable manner by generally making information about their work available to their residents, local communities and other stakeholders.
Therefore please advise under EiR the following:
Year on year since January 2008, please advise the total number of call outs, requests & complaints you have received from residents in regard to damp and mould at Sunnyfield, East Ardsley, Wakefield, including but not limited to postcode WF3 2JR all properties in this street.
Please advise if you consider the growth of mushrooms in your property to be an acceptable standard of living for any one, but more importantly a person with a disability-a protected characteristic under the Equalities Act 2010.
Please furnish me with any/all relevant paperwork and inspection of housing showing that your housing association claims that these houses are fit for habitation and pose no threat to the health of your tenants.
I trust you will take this matter very seriously and furnish me with the information I requested within the statutory timescale.
