Request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the Act”) 
 
Further to your recent request for information held by King’s Col ege London, I am 
writing to confirm that the requested information is held by the university. 
 
Your request 
 
We received your information request on 28th April 2020 and have treated it as a 
request for information made under section 1(1) of the Act. 
 
You requested the fol owing information: 
 
I request the fol owing. For the PhD programs in Department of Geography for the year 2017 to 
2020 (or 2019 is 2020 results are not available) please could you provide: 
 
1) The total number of submitted proposals to upgrade from MPhil to PhD (brokedown by PhD 
programs in the Department) that took place for that department's students for these years. 
2) The total number of Upgrade proposal to PhD that got accepted (unconditional pass and refer 
for further review that led within the same academic year to a successful upgrade) 
3) The Total that failed to upgrade and had to remain at MPhil level

Please find attached an excel spreadsheet containing the information you have 
requested. 
 
This completes the university’s response to your information request.
