Substantuive Audit 2011

Dear University for Industry,

All information requested relates to smaller learndirect centres who are not, because of their size, automatically required to submit to audit each year.

How many smaller centres remained in the learndirect network beyond October 2011?

Of these, how many were audited?

What was their total funding drawdown in the 2011-12 academic year?

What was the total amount re-claimed by audit?

How many smaller centres left the learndirect network at the end of July 2011?

Of these, how many were audited?

What was their total funding drawdown in the 2011-12 academic year?

What was the total amount re-claimed by audit?

This question relates to audit and contract size of learning providers, the rules of which have changed over time.

In 2011/12 it is expected that all of the SFA delivery through learndirect (irrespective of size), will be subject to audit by the SFA.

Please note that whilst we have provided the information above, in August 2010 Ufi changed its constitution, removing the right of the Secretary of State to appoint Board members from the Articles of the company. The Information Commissioner confirmed that these changes to the constitution removed Ufi Ltd from part VI of Schedule 1 of the Act. We are therefore no longer required to answer questions under the Freedom of Information Act.
