Good evening Ben,

EIR Extension of time

I am writing to advise you that the time limit for responding to your
request for information under the Environmental Information Regulations
2004, which we received on 8 September, needs to be extended. This is in
reference to the request that you submitted with the subject line ‘Freedom
of Information request - Submissions to 2021 consultation on "Heavy goods
vehicles: ending the sale of new non-zero emission models”’.

The Regulations allow us 20 working days to respond to your request from
the date of its receipt. However, it is occasionally necessary to extend
the 20-working-day time limit for issuing a response. In this case, I
regret that we must extend the time limit for responding by three-working
days because of the complexity and volume of the request.

I hope to let you have a response by Monday 11 October. If there is any
further delay I will keep you informed.

Appeals procedure

If you are dissatisfied with the way we have responded to or handled your
request, you have the right to ask for an internal review.  These should
be submitted within two calendar months of the date of this letter and
addressed to the FOI Advice Team at [1][email address].

Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.

If you ask for an internal review and are still not content with the
outcome, you have the right to apply directly to the Information
Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted
via their online form:

Kind regards,

Graham MacGruer
