FOI Advice, British Broadcasting Corporation

Dear Mr Foomer,

As set out in our response of 9 June 2009 (reference RFI20090805) the
information that you have requested falls outside of the scope of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000. As such we are not obliged to supply
information held for the purposes of creating the BBC's output or
information that supports and is closely associated with these creative
activities. I can however confirm that the information that we have
provided you is the only available editorial guidance within the BBC
about images of brief duration.

I have spoken with my colleague in our Editorial Policy division who has
suggested that you can look at Ofcom's Broadcasting Code guidance
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv/ifi/guidance/... for
further information. The relevant section of the Broadcasting code is
Rule 2.12 and can be found at
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv/ifi/codes/bco....
