Dear Beth,

Thank you for your email of 10 July. I have assigned a reference of RAM0801 to this request.

Section 8(1) of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) sets out the criteria for making a valid request. Section 8(1)(b) states that that a request must include the name of the applicant and an address for correspondence. The Information Commissioner has issued guidance on what information would constitute a valid name. This guidance states that title and/or first name and surname satisfies this requirement. "Example: Mr Arthur Thomas Roberts could satisfy section 8(1)(b) of the FOIA by stating his name in a request for information as "Arthur Roberts", "A. T. Roberts", or "Mr Roberts", but not by stating his name as "Arthur" or "A.T.R." "

Please confirm a valid name, so we can proceed with your request.

All best
David
