21^st March 2017

Dear Ms. Mandache

I write in response to your request for information dated 24^th February,
2017, received by the University and passed to me as the University’s
Freedom of Information Officer for action.

In response to your question :

I would like to know the number of students who graduated at the
University of Northampton in the last 5 years and are still unemployed

This information is not held by the University.

Whilst an annual survey of those students graduating each year is
undertaken six months after their graduation this is a one off exercise.
These groups of students are not surveyed again in subsequent years – a
different group of students participates in the survey each year.

However, we are aware of a report and experimental statistics published by
the Department for Education which looked at ‘Employment and earnings of
higher education graduates 1, 3, 5, and 10 years after graduation’.

In case this is of use to you the report and statistics can be found at:

[4]https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics...

I hope the University has made its response in a clear and constructive
manner; however, if you consider the University has handled your request
unfairly you are entitled to follow the process set out in our standard
advice on the University's Freedom of Information Complaints Procedure
which is available online at:

Yours sincerely
