Do you have an existing transport service for students? If yes:

you made to Coventry University in respect of transport services.

 

Your Request and Response

 

Do you have an existing transport service for students? If yes: The
University Group’s Estates Department arrange transport services directly
to students for field trips and for other student requirements. This is
provided through University owned minibuses. We also work with partners to
provide travel for student trips, but this is on an ad hoc arrangement and
is managed through third-party providers at the request of academic
departments. We also have a contract with StudyLinks for Student Group
Travel

 

When is the contract due for renewal? StudyLinks - August 2023

 

Which companies provide your transport services? Several local companies
provide transport services on an ad-hoc basis and A-Line provides a staff
shuttle bus service to Ryton.  We also have a contract with StudyLinks for
Student Travel and with Key Travel for  Staff Travel.

 

What is your annual budget for student transport? N/A

 

Do you charge students to use the transport service? If so, how much and
what type of tickets do you provide (daily, termly, annual)? Generally,
student trips are partially funded by the student and partially funded by
the University

 

How many students use the transport per day? N/A

 

What is your occupancy rate? N/A

 

How many parking spaces available vs. demand for spaces? We have
approximately 1500 parking spaces across our Coventry campus, and these
spaces are split 50/50 between staff and students. Full details of the
parking is provided on our website [1]here. We don't have regular counts
of the demand for car parking. It can be safely assumed that on peak days
of the week parking demand is approximately 95% across the campus.

 

How much do you charge for parking, and how much money is generated per
year? Please see the attached spreadsheet.

 

Please explain how you procure student transport services. Through a
tender process in compliance with Public Contracting Regulations

 

Please identify any frameworks and or buying groups that your organisation
is a part of. Crown Commercial Service, UKUPC, SUPC, LUPC, Constellia.

 

What job role is responsible for managing the transport budget? The
University does not have a 'transport budget'. Any transport requests are
ad hoc and are processed through the Finance Department.

 

How many staff members are in the transport team? There is no transport
team, but there are employees responsible for transport. Namely, a
Transport and Distribution team responsible for managing the University
fleet of vehicles and bus and coach arrangements. There is also a
Sustainable Transport Manager who is responsible for the rollout of
sustainable transport initiatives at the University
