Dear T E Harper,

Thank you for your request for information.

Please find attached the data you have requested. Please note that we have
not broken down to the level of “region” in subjects where the entire
class was from the same region or where there was a class with so few from
the other regions that the region of the majority would be easy to
identify. We would consider this information to be personal data.

In accordance with Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 this
letter acts in part as a Refusal Notice. The exemption applied is Section
40 (2) (Personal Information). Section 40 (2) of the Freedom of
Information Act effectively prohibits the release of personal information
if doing so would breach the principles in the Data Protection Act 1998.
We have a statutory duty under Section 4 (4) of the Data Protection Act
1998 – “to comply with the data protection principles in relation to all
personal data”.

If you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been handled or
with the outcome of the consideration given to your request you may ask
for an internal review.  If you are not content with the outcome of an
internal review you have the right to apply directly to the Information
Commissioner for a decision.  Our procedure for carrying out internal
reviews is available on our [1]website.

If you have any queries about this e-mail or would like any further
information about either your request or the Freedom of Information Act
generally please do not hesitate to get in touch again by letter, e-mail

Yours sincerely
