You are going to struggle with this one. I tried getting this type of information once but it was refused as they said it fell within the scope of the derogation. They also claimed that it was personal data. The ICO was no use as they claimed that because this wasn't a valid request, they had no powers to investigate. Basically you're screwed from every direction.

I'll watch this with great interest and I wish you luck.

I understand that the derogation is exclusive, and not inclusive - that is, exempt information is held for the special purposes and no other. Otherwise, they could essentially exempt themselves entirely from the Act by stating that all information they hold is used for at least one of those purposes.
