Street Lighting Information

The request was partially successful.

Dear Bexley Borough Council

After much observation I have notice that the Urbis ZX2 has been Bexley Boroughs staple street lantern for several years.

My questions regarding Bexley Boroughs street lighting are:

1> What year did Bexley Council first use the Urbis ZX2, and preferably, on which streets?

2> What is the cost of using the Urbis ZX2 and the cost of installing Corus street lighting columns/brackets ?

3> Are there any plans to use different sources of lighting in future installations of the Urbis ZX2, namely switching from SON-T bulbs to LED/Cosmo bulbs?

4> As the Urbis ZX range has been in production for almost three decades, certain borough have changed their aging staple lanterns to something newer with newer technology (for instance, Camden Council switched from Urbis ZX2s with SON-T bulbs to black Indal/WRTL ARC 80s with Cosmo bulbs, and Bromley Council switched from Philips SGS203s with SON-T bulbs to black Indal/WRTL Lumas with LED bulbs). Therefore, which staple lanterns will Bexley Council be using in the future, in which colour, which bulb/technology will be used, and on which streets?

5> Additionally, Bexley Council has been using British Steel/Corus columns and brackets for decades, therefore I would like to know if Bexley Council will continue to use these columns and brackets,or if there are future plans to change these to another brand/style, and if so, what will it change to?

6> Lastly, Bexley Council paints all of its columns and brackets in a dark green colour, and as such, which were the first streets in Bexley Borough to use this colour scheme?
Plus, will there be any future changes to this colour scheme (like the change in colour of street lighting columns in the pedestrainised part of Bexleyheaths Broadway, which has changed from Green to Grey), like possibly reverting back to the previous Dark-White/light-Grey colour scheme?

I look forward to receiving your prompt response

Yours faithfully

Alistair Young
