Dear Caerphilly County Borough Council,

I would be grateful if you could provide me with the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:
1. Full list of sweepers owned/leased by the council (under 4tonne GVW) including make and model
2. (if leased) Lease start & end date (month and year would suffice)
3. (If owned) Year purchased & when the council are looking to renew their fleet of sweepers
4. Does the council carry out street cleansing duties in-house or is this contracted out?
5. (If contracted out) who is the contractor responsible for street cleansing duties?
6. Contact details for the person(s) responsible for managing the fleet and street cleansing within the council.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST

 

Thank you for your request for information received on 24 May 2021. We
have considered your request and enclose the following information:

 

(1) Full list of sweepers owned/leased by the council (under 4tonne GVW)
including make and model

We currently have only one Sweeper under 4 Tonnes in weight.  This is an
applied 636HS Model.

 

(2) (if leased) Lease start & end date (month and year would suffice)

This machine is owned by CCBC

 

(3) (If owned) Year purchased & when the council are looking to renew
their fleet of sweepers

This sweeper was acquired in Autumn 2015, there are no current plans to
replace it.

 

(4) Does the council carry out street cleansing duties in-house or is this
contracted out?

In house using our own employed staff

 

(5) (If contracted out) who is the contractor responsible for street
cleansing duties?

Not applicable

 

(6) Contact details for the person(s) responsible for managing the fleet
and street cleansing within the council.

The Fleet Manager is Robert Mitcham and the Waste Operations Manager is
Ross Smith.

Both are based at Tir-y-Berth Depot, New Road, Hengoed, CF82 8NR.
