Dear Mr Breathen,

I am writing to seek clarification on the Freedom of Information request
you made on 06/11/2018.

You have stated “Please provide me with the full training curriculum
and/or training guidelines/handbook used to train senior members of the
Constabulary.”

Are you requesting this information for police officers, police staff or
both?

Additionally can you advise us of your definition of ‘senior’? Is this
officers above a certain rank? If so please advise of the rank you are
requesting the information about.

I await your response. If no response is received from you this request
will be close.

Regards,

Dear Mr Breathen,

YOUR REQUEST:

Please provide me with the full training curriculum and/or training
guidelines/handbook used to train senior members of the Constabulary.

OUR RESPONSE:

In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act, our response to your
request is as follows;

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 entitles an applicant to recorded
information, subject to exemptions, held at the time the request was
received. There is no requirement to provide non-recorded information,
such as opinion or corporate knowledge or information that was not
recorded at the time the request was received.

I have consulted with the relevant departments who have advised me that
the Force conducts a yearly training needs analysis and consequently
provide a training plan detailing internal and external courses to be
provided with specific focus on a number of training priorities. There is
no training curriculum and/or training guidelines/handbook used to train
senior members of the Constabulary. However in order to assist you I can
supply the below examples of recent training and CPD activities undertaken
by those officers at a Superintendent Level or above.

Media Training

Presentation Skills

Senior Leadership Development via CoP

Authorising Officer via CoP

Multi Agency Gold Incident Commander Course (MAGIC) via CoP

CPD Leadership Conferences including People Promise and Leadership Skills

If you are not satisfied with the decision applied in this case I enclose
for your attention a copy of the Constabulary's appeal procedures.

Regards
