Steel Structure
Dear Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, On the corner of Munsbrough/Fenton Road close to the library, there is a Stainless Steel "Pogoda" type Structure. Seeing that 100% of people I have asked do not know it is there...Will the Council let me know.
What is it for
Why is it there.
What use it is to the Local Community.
Who decided to put it there.
How much did it cost.
Would the Council consider taking it down, selling the metal for scrap and spending the proceeds on a safer Zebra crossing on Main St due to the number of Accidents/near misses there.
Yours faithfully, Brian Hoyland.

This sculpture was installed as part of a scheme for the enhancement of
Civic Properties in 1976. The decision to install this was made by the
Arts Sub Committee of the Former Council Borough Libraries, Museums and
Arts Committee.
We have searched to try and find the cost of the sculpture and
installation but have been unable to locate these details, we believe this
has now been destroyed in line with our retention policy for this type of
information.
The attached document has been retrieved from our archives and may provide
you with further information in relation to this matter.
There are currently no plans to remove this sculpture.
