Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

I'm researching the increase in flexible working in private and public organisations. Do you have data on number of your staff that have made a statutory flexible working request? If so could you send me the last 4 years of data? Could this include, whether the request has been agreed or not, reason for refusal, the type of change i.e. in work pattern, hours or working from home and if possible the reason for the request, i.e. childcare or other caring responsibilities etc. Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Charlie Halsey

Dear DWP freedom-of-information-requests,

Thank you for your reply in Nov '18.

You've confirmed that you hold the information on staff that have made a statutory flexible working request in the last 4 years, but cannot disclose it due to the cost limit. Could you please send me whatever you can within whatever timeframe falls within the limit?
In order of priority, firstly, stating whether the request has been agreed or not, secondly, reason for refusal, thirdly the type of change requested i.e. work pattern, hours or working from home and fourthly, the reason for the request, i.e. childcare or other caring responsibilities etc.

Yours faithfully,

Charlie Halsey
