Status of cycle link from Monsal Trail to Buxton Town Centre

A. Sheridan made this Freedom of Information request to Derbyshire County Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Derbyshire County Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Derbyshire County Council,

In 2011 plans were drawn up and published for a cycle link between Monsal Trail and Buxton, via Woo Dale.

Ultimately these were not progressed, and no progress has been made since (at least to public knowledge). What is the current status of Derbyshire County Council's aim to connect this trail into Buxton and complete the "White Peak Loop"? What barriers are preventing the completion of the planned link, and if it has had to be abandoned completely, what ideas is the council looking at for alternative routes?

Yours faithfully,

A. Sheridan
