Statistics relating to the audio/visual recording of teaching sessions throughout the University

The request was partially successful.

Dear University of Bath,

Please can I have information relating to the audio and/or visual recording of lectures throughout the University.

For the purpose of this request, 'lecture' or 'lectures' refers to all regularly planned teaching sessions, however, if there is a disparity between figures (e.g. 100% of lectures recorded, 0% of seminars), please can this be explicitly noted with figures.

In all the following questions, please can the numbers be broken down by department (e.g. Health and Applied Sciences, Business and Law, etc.)?

Please can any figures be expressed as both an absolute number, and a percentage of the total, where appropriate.

1. Which courses have their lectures regularly recorded, ordered from courses with the most lectures recorded, to courses with the least lectures recorded, as a percentage of total lectures?
a. Of the courses which have their lectures recorded, what percentage of lectures are recorded (e.g. if lectures are regularly recorded, but a few are not)?
b. How many courses (as a number and percentage of the total possible) have their lectures regularly recorded vs. those that do not have their lectures recorded?
2. When available, how many students (as a number and percentage of the total possible) access recorded lectures after they are uploaded?
3. How many students (as a number and percentage of the total possible) have objected to lectures being recorded?
a. How many students have plans in place to avoid inclusion in the recordings of lectures that are regularly recorded?
4. How many students (as a number and percentage of the total possible) have expressed positive sentiment, through feedback, towards lectures being recorded?
5. How many students (as a number and percentage of the total possible) have expressed interest, through feedback, that their lectures be recorded?
6. How many teaching rooms in the University (as a number and percentage of the total) are equipped with lecture recording equipment?
a. Furthermore, how many rooms are planned to be equipped with recording facilities in the future?

Yours faithfully,

Jack Fifield
