Statistics on missed offers

We're waiting for Layla to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear King's College London,

I would like to make a request to access information regarding the number of undergraduate Economics & Management offer holders missed their offer last year (academic year starting 2019 ending 2020). From this information, I would also like to know if you accepted anyone who missed their offer and if so, how many you accepted and with what grades you accepted them with.

Yours faithfully,
Ms Solanki.

Dear King's College London,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of King's College London's handling of my FOI request 'Statistics on missed offers'.

The excel spreadsheet you have sent me does not actually state anywhere what anything means. It’s very hard to follow and I do not understand what it is showing. Please can you explain the spreadsheet for my understanding.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/s...

Yours faithfully,

Layla

Dear Layla,

I have had a look into this for you.

Upon enquiry, it appears some columns were omitted from the response as it was assumed to be unnecessary/additional data, when in fact it had been provided by our Admissions team to ensure the data you had requested could be properly understood - I apologise for this and have now provided the complete spreadsheet attached along with the complete explanatory notes below. A unique ID number has been assigned to each applicant in the attached spreadsheet to help you identify overall grades whilst protecting the anonymity of the applicants.

Number of offer holders that missed their offer: 33
Of which, number that were 'accepted': 29

See attached spreadsheet for grades information.

Caveats:
• Missed offer includes those who got 'equivalent' grades.
e.g. where an offer was AAA, A*AB would be equivalent.
• 'Accepted' has been taken to mean given an unconditional offer after receiving their results.
• The data includes all applicants for entry to academic year 2019/0, this may include applicants which applied in previous cycles and deferred entry to that year.
• Results are provided as they are stored in our system.
- one record per qualification.
- records from the SQE database are verified by UCAS.
- records from the SQF database have been manually entered by the applicants so may contain errors.
- where an SQF qualification formed part of an offer condition it will have been manually verified by the admissions office but the SQF record itself may not have been updated.

I hope this helps, if you still require a formal internal review of the response then please let me know.

Kind regards,
Olenka.
