Statistics for the Annually replacement of Road Studs

The request was successful.

Dear Council of the Isles of Scilly,

In brief my Company, Cyclops Road Studs Ltd has developed a device that illuminates road markings with UK, USA, CHINA & EUROPE patents granted and further patents pending globally.

I would very much appreciate information for the number of Road Studs that are replaced Annually in the UK within your County (the most recent year you have on record would be fine and just one year) could you please specify the year they relate to? It would also be helpful if you could tell me the total miles of roads that you maintain/look after for your County?

IT IS IMPERATIVE TO MY COMPANY THAT I HAVE THE CORRECT INFROMATION IN ORDER FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO FINALISE DISCUSSIONS WITH VARIOUS INVESTORS TO GET A ROUTE TO MARKET WHICH IS DEPENDENT ON THE ANNUAL REPLACEMENT FIGURES.

Yours faithfully,

Thomas Barker

Dear Council of the Isles of Scilly,

I just need to know how many road studs you replaced annually within your county (can be from any year) but please specify the year. I would also need to know how many miles of roads you look after within your county. I hope this clarifies my request.

Yours faithfully,

Thomas Barker

Dear Enquirer

Please forgive us for the delay in replying to your Freedom of Information request.

The Council of the Isles of Scilly is a very small organisation, serving a local population of around 2,200. As a unitary authority, however, the Council receives more than 700 Freedom of Information requests a year. The large majority of these requests are clearly geared towards much bigger authorities. Providing an answer to each of these questions involves an enormous amount of work. Furthermore we suspect that many of the answers we provide are not useful by virtue of the extreme small numbers. In addition, given the size of the local population, we frequently find ourselves having to withhold answers to avoid disclosing personal information.

In light of the above, we would be grateful for clarification as to whether the Council of the Isles of Scilly falls within the scope of your enquiry. If we do not hear from you, we will assume that it does not.

If the Council does fall within the scope of your enquiry, needless to say we will certainly provide you with a response.

Kind regards

Dear FOI (Isles of Scilly),

Thank you for your reply. it would be useful to know the amount/number of roads your county is responsible for. this would of course give me an idea of the size of network i.e. if very small you may not have many numbers of road studs on your roads. please confirm.
I hope that makes sense.

Yours sincerely,

Thomas Barker
