Statistics for students with non-preferred subjects
Dear London School of Economics,
-I am interested in knowing the statistics about the number of students who have gotten an offer from both home and abroad with one or more 'non preferred' subjects.
-Also, the number of EU students who have gotten an offer from the total number of applicants.
-The number of students who have gotten offers despite underperforming at Igcse's/gcse's ,such as taking 6 or 7 subjects or, getting no A*.
I hope lse takes this into consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Shannon

It is not possible to answer this question as there is no single benchmark
for performance at GCSE level (and therefore no clear definition of
‘underperformance’). The only requirement is that all applicants have at
least grade B in GCSE English or Maths. Each applicant to LSE is
considered on his/her merit and in competition with the rest of the
applicant cohort in a given admissions cycle. Each application is viewed
holistically; assessing the merit, potential, motivation, skills and
qualities of applicants by considering all the information presented on
the application form. This includes, but is not limited to, academic
achievements and qualifications. The personal statement, academic
reference and additional social and educational contextual data also form
an important part of the selection process. For more information on
exactly what contextual information is used in the admissions decision
making process please refer to the [2]Undergraduate Admissions Policy.

Commissioner's Office http://www.ico.gov.uk/, though they expect the
internal review to be carried out before receiving a complaint directly.
