Statistics for Audio Recording Requests
Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
In the House of Commons written answers (06/06/2013) Mr Hoban stated:.... “Presently only nine requests for an audio recording have been turned down, (to date) this occurred in July 2012. This was because they could not be accommodated within the four week timeframe for arranging assessments”.
1) Could you corroborate that these figures given are correct or alternatively provide the figures that you have available.
2) Could you provide the number of requests for audio recording in the past 12 months or alternatively for the latest recorded 12 month period available.
Yours faithfully,
B. Adams

Dear DWP freedom-of-information-requests,
In addition to the above request and with reference to the Commons debate on the 12th of this month could you provide the information as to what happened to the (almost) 2000 requests for a recorded assessment which have not been carried out.. when only 9 have not been accommodated?
Hoban ...“Since the introduction of a limited audio recording facility in September 2011, fewer than 4,000 claimants have requested a recorded assessment. To date, Atos has conducted more than 2,000 audio-recorded assessments”........ Yet on the 6th Mr Hoban: “Presently only nine requests for an audio recording have been turned down, this occurred in July 2012” etc....
Yours sincerely,
B. Adams
