Dear ‎Anna Davis‏

Freedom of Information Act 2000

I am writing to ask you to clarify your request.

This is because we are not certain that we have understood part of your
request correctly, and we need further details from you in order to
identify and locate the correct information to answer Q4:

4) How many removals of newborns from their birth parents, within the
first two weeks of birth, has the local authority done in each of the
following calendar years: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019,
2020, 2021, 2022 (to 1 March)?

The officer dealing with this part of your request has provided the
following details outlining what information we hold and asking for some
clarification:

"We can provide any children who were accommodated within two weeks of
being born who were made subject to an interim, full or placement order.
Please note that Section 20 accommodation is usually in agreement with the
parents so wouldn't be classed as a removal as such.  Can we confirm with
the requester a precise definition?"

Therefore, I should be grateful if you would confirm that the information
we hold as outlined above would be acceptable to answer this question?
Alternatively, please provide clarification for the term 'removals of
newborns from their birth parents' and explain what information you are
expecting us to provide to answer this question?

I will not be able to take this matter further without this extra
information from you, please let me know by 1st June 2022.  If I do not
hear from you within the timeframe provided, I shall take it that you do
not wish to pursue this request and will consider the request closed.

If you need assistance, please contact me at:
[1][Warwickshire County Council request email]  in the first instance.

Kind regards

Dear Warwickshire County Council,

Thank you for the clarification question.

Yes as you propose, I would like the number of children who were accommodated within two weeks of
being born who were made subject to an interim, full or placement order.

That can exclude Section 20 accommodation orders as per your definition.

Yours sincerely,

Anna Davis
