Response: The term ‘peodophile' is used to define a disorder where an
individual is sexually attracted to children.Central Scotland Police do
not record whether or not an offender has been classed as a
‘peodophile’. Providing information which may assist you would require
searching the system for the number of recorded complaints made against an
individual for a sexual offence committed against children and manually
cross referencing each individual record to ascertain if they are sex
offenders. To retrieve this type of information would under Section 12 (1)
of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, allows Public
Authorities to decline requests where the cost of providing information is
considered to be excessive. I am declining your request under this
provision of the Act.
