Statistical breakdown of the public disorder of 6th to 9th August 2011

D McIntyre made this Freedom of Information request to Ministry of Justice

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was refused by Ministry of Justice.

Dear Ministry of Justice,

I have reviewed the MoJ produced 'Statistical bulletin on the public disorder of 6th to 9th August 2011' however I would appreciate it if you could provide a further breakdown on those figures based on ethnicity.

I am aware the Secretary of State is required to publish, annually, information relating to the criminal justice system with reference to avoiding discrimination on the ground of race, therefore I will assume that the MoJ has the relevant data to hand.

I believe the current ethnicity profiling is (or is similar) to White; Mixed; Asian or Asian British; Black or Black British; Chinese or Other Ethnic Group; Not Known.

I am happy for you to substitute any of those headings with the correct grouping if that is not correct.

I would also request that you breakdown the statistics on locale, I believe the areas you identify in your published report refer to London; West Midlands; Nottingham; Greater Manchester; Merseyside; Other areas.

A breakdown by those regions is acceptable.

Yours faithfully,

D McIntyre

Perry, Dave (OCJR),
