Statistical analysis of data in the May 2017 report "A review of recent installations of 20mph area schemes"
Dear Bath and North East Somerset Council,
Your report of May 2017 “Setting Local Speed Limits...A review of recent installations
of 20mph area schemes (signage only)" draws conclusions from data sets, many of which have few data points.
I can find no reference to a statistical analysis of the significance of the changes in accident rates and casualty rates. Therefore it is an open question whether changes of such size would have occurred by chance and what reliable conclusions can be drawn.
I request all information and correspondence regarding statistical analysis of the data and also regarding whether to conduct such an analysis.
Yours faithfully,
Alun Morris
