Statistic of Non Deployed Gulf Troops suffering Gulf War Illness

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Ministry of Defence should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

We have heard many statements in reference to Gulf War Illnesses over the past 25 + years, from different administrations and different ministers, along the lines of how they will leave no stone unturned etc in search of cause and treatment. I deployed to the Gulf 90/91 and suffer gulf war illnesses. Firstly Please do not thank me for my service, I sent my medals back to the queen along time ago, it would only insult me. Prove MOD have left no stones unturned by answering the following very simple and only question.

Question
What percentage (%) of the vaccine regime (inc Anthrax) prepared troops that DID NOT DEPLOY INTO THEATRE (Saudi, Iraq, Kuwait) are suffering/have suffered Gulf War symptoms?

Dear SG SecFin-Sec Gp Mailbox (MULTIUSER),

These are basic questions in order to receive basic data/information

I request an internal review

Dear Mr Roberts,
Thank you for your e-mail of 18 February 2019 (below) and writing to the Joint Medical Group Secretariat in the first instance, in accordance with advice in our letter to you of 18 January. We regret that you were dissatisfied with the response.

As explained, it is not possible within the appropriate limit to determine any of the following:

1. The last date MOD administered Pertusis and Anthrax simultaneously in the Armed Forces
2. The last date MOD administered multiple vaccines (5 or more simultaneously and/or within 4 weeks)
3. The percentage (%) of the vaccine regime (inc Anthrax) prepared troops that DID NOT DEPLOY INTO THEATRE (Saudi, Iraq, Kuwait) are suffering/have suffered Gulf War symptoms?

The information required to answer these questions is not held centrally. It would require the retrieval and review of potentially thousands of Service medical records to provide a definitive response to each question. This would exceed the appropriate limit several times over.

However, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) can provide details of any relevant Defence policy on the administering of vaccines, which might include dates of when the policy changed. Also, as explained in our letter of 18 January, a search for information you requested on 2 January and 6 January can also be conducted within the appropriate limit. Please confirm if you would like the MOD to conduct these searches.

If you do not wish the MOD to do so and instead wish to complain about the handling of your request, or the content of the response, you can request an independent internal review by contacting the Information Rights Compliance team, Ground Floor, MOD Main Building, Whitehall, SW1A 2HB (e-mail [email address]). Please note that any request for an internal review should be made within 40 working days of the date of this response.

If you remain dissatisfied following an internal review, you may raise your complaint directly to the Information Commissioner under the provisions of Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act. Please note that the Information Commissioner will not normally investigate your case until the MOD internal review process has been completed. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. Further details of the role and powers of the Information Commissioner can be found on the Commissioner's website at https://ico.org.uk/.

Dear SG SecFin-Sec Gp Mailbox (MULTIUSER),

Yes I still require an internal review, in all the information you sent me a link to, there is no copy of the signal/s claimed to have been sent out in reference to INFORMED consent. So at present it is just HEARSAY at best!

My other question was , when was the last time 5 or mire vaccines were administered to British troops within 1 sitting/ the same day/ within 3 weeks

Thankyou for your assistance
