Station icons
Dear Network Rail Limited,
Do you have the complete set of station logos (in AI/EPS format), initially introduced by Railtrack for its Major Stations, and later expanded on by Network Rail?
Many of the logos can be seen here:
https://thebeautyoftransport.com/2013/04...
A lot of them can be seen in the public domain on archived Railtrack/early Network Rail websites... example: Euston logo at https://web.archive.org/web/200305042223... and also many of them are shown here on the side menu bar: https://web.archive.org/web/200401221042...
I am not after Wayfinding guidelines (as they have not featured in wayfinding guidelines for 2012 or 2020/as published via FOI requests by others) or Wayfinding pictograms, and I understand that they no longer appear on Wayfinding station name signs.
The list of logos (in AI/EPS format) in question are:
Major Stations (logo for 'Major Stations' itself, as shown at the bottom of the newsletter I referenced earlier)
Birmingham New Street
Bristol Temple Meads
Cannon Street
Charing Cross
Clapham Junction
Edinburgh Waverley
Euston
Fenchurch Street
Gatwick Airport
Glasgow Central
Guildford
King's Cross
Leeds
Liverpool Street
London Bridge
Manchester Piccadilly
Paddington
Reading
Victoria
Waterloo
Finally, was one ever designed for St.Pancras (Low Level) as it is a Network Rail managed station albeit not used as HS1 have their own branding for the main station?
Yours faithfully,
Ainsley Quinn

Dear FOI,
I think you understand correctly (as I included links to show the logos in question)... but if additional clarification if needed...
The station logos (as per the list of stations provided) are circular and have the first letter of the station name (with the exception of King's Cross which used the letter X for 'Cross') within it, and the letter being graphically changed to add an artistic element that has a relevance to the station/station location.. e.g. Edinburgh was an 'E' within a circle and the top of the E had a depiction of Edinburgh Castle.
There was additionally a circular logo containing an arch for Railtrack's 'Major Stations', which grouped all of the stations together as a department. I provided a link to show this in my original request although this was missing from your reply.
I do not think one was ever designed for St Pancras in this style, but would be interested in it, even if it was designed, but never applied.
I am not interested in any subsequent station logos that are not in the same style - circular style/design based on a single letter - so I am not interested in logos such as the more recent 'bee' (insect) at Manchester Piccadilly (not circular and not based on the letter M that was previously used), the newer King's Cross station logo based on the station frontage design (again, not circular or based on a single letter) or the St Pancras full worded logo 'St. Pancras' (again, not circular, not based on a single letter, and also not introduced by Railtrack or Network Rail, but by LCR/HS1).
Yours sincerely,
Ainsley Quinn
