Statement of Community Involvement

The request was successful.

Dear Hartlepool Council,

Here at Civic Voice we are campaigning to put public participation at the heart of the planning system. With this in mind:

- Can you confirm as to whether your local authority has a Statement of Community Involvement?

- Can you confirm when the authority published the Statement of Community Involvement?

- When is your next expected consultation/update?

- Do you have a publicly available link to the SCI?

- Is the local Civic Society or Civic Trust identified by the local planning authority as a Consultee (whether Statutory or Non-Statutory) in the Planning System within the Statement of Community Involvement?

Yours faithfully,

Sarah James

FOI Responses, Hartlepool Council

Dear Sarah

Further to your request for information, I can advise as below;

- Can you confirm as to whether your local authority has a Statement of
Community Involvement?

-          I can confirm that the local authority has a Statement of
Community Involvement (SCI).

- Can you confirm when the authority published the Statement of Community
Involvement?

-          The current SCI was published in January 2010 however an
updated version was presented at Regeneration Services Committee in July
2019 and is anticipated to be presented at full Council in September 2019.

- When is your next expected consultation/update?

-          There was a consultation on the above update between Tuesday
18^th December 2018 and Friday 22^nd February 2019. There are no further
updates or consultations planned in the near future.

- Do you have a publicly available link to the SCI?

-          There is a publicly available link to the SCI available on the
Council’s website.

- Is the local Civic Society or Civic Trust identified by the local
planning authority as a Consultee (whether Statutory or Non-Statutory) in
the Planning System within the Statement of Community Involvement?

-          Within the currently adopted 2010 version, section 13.8 within
Appendix 5 details ‘Civic Societies’ as a potential consultation body.
Within the updated 2019 version, there is no list of consultation bodies.
However the local civic society is within the team’s consultation database
and were consulted on during the period detailed above.
