Statement of Community Involvement Request

The request was successful.

Dear Stroud District Council,

Here at Civic Voice we are campaigning to put public participation at the heart of the planning system. With this in mind:

- Can you confirm as to whether your local authority has a Statement of Community Involvement?

- Can you confirm when the authority published the Statement of Community Involvement?

- When is your next expected consultation / update of the Statement of Community Involvement?

- Do you have a publicly available link to the Statement of Community Involvement?

- Is the local civic society or civic trust identified by the local planning authority as a consultee (whether statutory or non-statutory) in the planning system within the Statement of Community Involvement?

Kind Regards,

Sophie Mason

Dear Miss Mason

Re: Freedom of Information Request.

Statement of Community Involvement

Thank you for your request for information received in this office on
31/07/2019 regarding the above.

Response

1)      Stroud District Council does have a Statement of Community
Involvement

2)      The statement was adopted on 28 March 2019

3)      Local planning authorities must review their Statements of
Community Involvement every five years from adoption. Additionally, the
document will be kept under review and will be updated if necessary to
reflect any changes in legislation or national policy or changes to local
practice.

4)      The statement can be found through the following link
[1]https://www.stroud.gov.uk/environment/pl...

5)      The SCI does not list specific bodies including the local Civic
Society/Trust but does refer to consulting with community and
environmental groups.

If you have any complaint about the way in which your request for
information has been handled, please ask for a review to be carried out.
If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction then you have the
right to apply to the Information Commissioner’s Office for a review.
