Statement of Community Involvement Request

The request was successful.

Dear Rushmoor Borough Council,

Here at Civic Voice we are campaigning to put public participation at the heart of the planning system. With this in mind:

- Can you confirm as to whether your local authority has a Statement of Community Involvement?

- Can you confirm when the authority has published the Statement of Community Involvement?

- When is your next expected consultation / update of the Statement of Community Involvement?

- Do you have a publicly available link to the Statement of Community Involvement?

- Is the local civic society or civic trust identified by the local planning authority as a consultee (whether statutory or non-statutory) in the planning system within the Statement of Community Involvement?

Kind Regards,

Sophie Mason

Rushmoor Council Planning Policy, Rushmoor Borough Council

Dear Sophie,

Thank you for your email. I will answer your questions in turn below:

Can you confirm as to whether your local authority has a Statement of
Community Involvement?

The Council has an adopted Statement of Community Involvement.

Can you confirm when the authority has published the Statement of
Community Involvement?

The Statement of Community Involvement adopted the current SCI in October
2013.

When is your next expected consultation / update of the Statement of
Community Involvement?

Following the adoption of our Local Plan in February 2019, the Council
consulted on an updated Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) for a
period of six weeks between 3 June 2019 and 15 July 2019. We anticipate
adopting the updated Statement of Community Involvement by the end of
2019.

Do you have a publicly available link to the Statement of Community
Involvement?

[1]https://www.rushmoor.gov.uk/sci

Is the local civic society or civic trust identified by the local planning
authority as a consultee (whether statutory or non-statutory) in the
planning system within the Statement of Community Involvement?

The current SCI details consultation groups involved in Local Plan
production in Appendix 1 and under other consultees identifies ‘residents
associations, community groups, societies and political parties’

I hope that this answers your question satisfactorily, but if you are
unhappy with the reply you have received, I attach a link to the Council’s
Complaints Procedure, which is the means by which you may request the
Council to review it.
