Statement of Community Involvement Request

The request was successful.

Dear Folkestone & Hythe District Council,

Here at Civic Voice we are campaigning to put public participation at the heart of the planning system. With this in mind:

- Can you confirm as to whether your local authority has a Statement of Community Involvement?

- Can you confirm when the authority has published the Statement of Community Involvement?

- When is your next expected consultation / update of the Statement of Community Involvement?

- Do you have a publicly available link to the Statement of Community Involvement?

- Is the local civic society or civic trust identified by the local planning authority as a consultee (whether statutory or non-statutory) in the planning system within the Statement of Community Involvement?

Kind Regards,

Sophie Mason
Finance and Administration Officer

Dear Sophie Mason,

Ref: LS-009566-RN: Freedom of Information request - Statement of Community
Involvement Request

I am writing in respect of your information access enquiry dated 31 July
2019.  This request has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act
2000.

Please find below information in response to your request.

·         Can you confirm as to whether your local authority has a
Statement of Community Involvement?

Yes, this local authority has a Statement of Community Involvement

·         Can you confirm when the authority has published the Statement
of Community Involvement?

The Statement of Community Involvement was published in January 2015

·         When is your next expected consultation / update of the
Statement of Community Involvement?

The Statement of Community Involvement will be amended later this year to
take account of changes to the Community Infrastructure Levy  as a result
of regulations that are due to come into force on 1 September 2019. A full
update is likely next year following the adoption of the Places and
Policies Local Plan and the Core Structure Review.

·         Do you have a publicly available link to the Statement of
Community Involvement?

The Statement of Community Involvement can be viewed on our website using
the following link:

[1]https://www.folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/plan...

·         Is the local civic society or civic trust identified by the
local planning authority as a consultee (whether statutory or
non-statutory) in the planning system within the Statement of Community
Involvement?

It does not specifically identify civic societies or trusts as a
consultee, but it includes a table explaining the types of organisations
that would be consulted as Specific Consultation Bodies or General
Consultees under the 2012 Local Plan Regulations. The Council maintains a
database of people and organisations who want to be kept informed and have
responded to consultation documents.
