Statement Monitoring Panel minutes
Dear Stockport Borough Council,
I would like to request all of the minutes from the Statement Monitoring Panels (SEN) since 2005. I understand that there are at least nine sets of minutes and that you will blank out the names of individual children.
I would also like the outcome of the meeting to remain on each set of minutes (Letter 1, Letter 2) etc.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
R Holt

Dear Miss Holt,
I am writing in response to your request for information below (Ref 3605).
The information you have requested will be handed to you personally later
today by a member of the SEN team. The information to be provided includes
210 submissions over five panels:
144 letter 1s
25 letter 2s
10 letter 3s
31 individual letters
These figures may differ slightly to those previously provided to you;
this is due to a previous error in which a set of typed notes and a set of
handwritten notes were counted separately but were actually for the same
panel. Regardless of this, the Council’s previous response regarding the
time taken to extract the outcomes of Panel for letter 2s remains correct;
however we apologise for any confusion this may cause.
You will be provided with all this information as requested; however any
information which identifies an individual child (which includes more than
just his or her name) has been removed. This is because it is exempt
information under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(FOIA).
Section 40(2) FOIA states that information which constitutes personal data
as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998 is exempt from disclosure if
its release would contravene one or more of the data protection
principles. The majority of the information you have requested is about
individual children; therefore it is personal data because it relates to
and identifies a living individual. Disclosure of these personal data
would be unfair; therefore it would contravene the first data protection
principle which requires the Council to process personal data fairly. This
means that the information is exempt and will not be provided.
If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request you are
entitled to ask for an internal review. Any internal review will be
carried out by a senior member of staff who was not involved with your
original request. To ask for an internal review, contact
[1][email address] in the first instance.
If you are unhappy with the outcome of any internal review, you are
entitled to complain to the Information Commissioner. To do so, contact:
