Staff travel to British Overseas Territories

We're waiting for Devang Patel to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear HM Passport Office,

Since 15 July 2015, the printing of British Passports for persons associated with British Overseas Territories have been centralised and is now the responsibility of HM Passport Office. In light of this decision, I require information on the following:

1) The total trips conducted by officials employed by or acting on behalf of HM Passport Office to each British Overseas Territory since 15 July 2015?

2) For each trip, a breakdown of the information:

- Name of the British Overseas Territory visited.
- Purpose of visit.
- Month and Year of the trip.
- Duration of the trip.
- The total amount of officials travelling on the trip.
- The rank of the officials travelling.
- Transportation cost(air fare, transfers, etc)
- Name of hotel/lodging accommodation used.
- Cost of hotel/lodging.
- Cost of daily subsistence (food, drinks, laundry, etc)
- Any other payments made (incidentals, etc)
- The HM Passport Office in which the individuals who travelled are based in?

3) For each trip, confirmation if a follow up report of the findings was submitted?

4) The date this report was completed?

5) A copy of the report? (I am willing to accept a redacted version of the report if it is not suitable for release under the Freedom of Information Act).

I thank you in advance for providing me with this information, and I look forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully,

Devang Patel

Dear Mr Patel

I am writing further to our below email. Your request is being handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

We are considering your request. Although the Act carries a presumption in favour of disclosure, it provides exemptions which may be used to withhold information in specified circumstances. Some of these exemptions, referred to as ‘qualified exemptions’, are subject to a public interest test. This test is used to balance the public interest in disclosure against the public interest in favour of withholding the information. The Act allows us to exceed the 20 working day response target where we need to consider the public interest test fully.

The information which you have requested is being considered under the exemptions in sections 30 & 27 of the FOIA . These are qualified exemptions and to consider the public interest test fully we need to extend the 20 working day response period. We now aim to let you have a full response by 19 March.

Yours sincerely

To clarify matters, my request relates solely to HM Passport Office staff.

The information I require remains the same 3 questions as the last message.

I would also like to request an interview review as I believe my questions have been clear and that HM Passport Office are intentionally frustrating the process to prevent answering the questions posed.
