I refer to your Freedom of Information request of 29 March 2024, which has now been considered under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Please list all the pay bands which apply to university staff. If pay bands do not exist in your university, please tell me the lowest annual salary/hourly rate paid to workers, and please specify their role.

The staff on the lowest banding can be categorised as Cleaners/Domestic Assistants, Catering Assistants and Student Ambassadors.

Please also provide a list, or a link to documents listing the current median pay, of staff, as well as the remuneration of the senior leadership team/highest paid staff.

The median salary within the University is £41,726.

The highest paid is the Principal and Vice-Chancellor as can be seen on our website: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/staffnet/governan... As the information is otherwise accessible it is exempt under section 25 (1) of the Act - Information otherwise accessible.

It must include your name and address for correspondence and specify the request for information and the grounds for dissatisfaction with the decision. If you are unhappy with the outcome of the University's internal review, you have the right to appeal to the Scottish Information Commissioner within six months of the date of receipt of the University's review notice.
