Staff Officers Handbook 1988 Amendment 3 (1990 or 1991)

The request was partially successful.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

As part of my ongoing research regarding the British Army prior to Options for Change, I would like to see if the MOD holds a copy of the Staff Officer's Handbook 1988 Amendment 3 (dated 1990 or 1991). This would be the last Amendment before the post Options for Change Amendment 4 (dated 1 April 1993). Thank you in advance for your help.

Yours faithfully,

Louis DeVirgilio

Dear Army Sec-Group (MULTIUSER),

Thank you, as per the email you sent, I have contacted the Army Secretariat directly. I am looking for the the first 60-90 pages (different versions end on different pages), not the whole 500 plus page document. I understand that you do have the information I requested but it would be too time consuming to review all 500 pages for release. I am marking this request as awaiting further reply until I hear back from the Army Secretariat regarding my more limited request.

Yours sincerely,

Louis DeVirgilio

Dear Army Sec-Group (MULTIUSER),

Please let me know if I have to make a more limited official request or if my response and reasoning in the email sufficient.

Yours sincerely,

Louis DeVirgilio

Dear CIO-FOI-IR (MULTIUSER) and Sandra,

Thank you for looking into this, as you can see from my previous FOI requests and from what I am researching, I perfectly understand if there is a delay due to the vetting of material to be released. Though you are not required to acknowledge, you are correct it is good practice to inform at what stage the MOD/FOI Team is with the request. I will remain patient and if the FOI Team needs any more specific information from me in regards I will be happy to promptly answer them.

Yours sincerely,

Louis DeVirgilio

Dear CIO-FOI-IR (MULTIUSER),

Thank you for sending me what was available for release. However I am disappointed at the amount of redactions that are still needed after nearly 30 years. Hopefully once we get past 2021 more will be available.

Yours faithfully,

Louis DeVirgilio
