Under the terms of freedom of information, I would like to request the following information for the period 1st January 2014 – 31st December 2014 (or for the last complete reporting year if easier) and to exclude employees of schools in the local authority area.
- The total number of full time staff (as of 31/12/14)
- The total number of part time staff (as of 31/12/14)
- The full time equivalent number of staff (as of 31/12/14)
- The number of compulsory and voluntary redundancies made by the local authority in the above stated period (please note, I only require a number, no information regarding positions made redundant or of settlements)
- Number of resignations accepted by the authority for the above stated period (please note, I only require a number, no data concerning the roles resigned, departments effected, etc.)
- Number of newly recruited staff for the above stated period
- Total number of sickness days taken by local authority staff for the above stated period (for the whole authority, not per person)
- Total number of Full Time Equivalent sickness days taken by local authority staff for the above stated period (for the whole authority, not per person)
- Total number of grievances (Please note, for disciplinary data, I only require a number, no specific details of any action instigated)

The total number of days sickness absence during the period 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014 was 55,375. This figure excludes employees based in schools and non-contracted staff such as casual workers.

The number of FTE sickness days absence for the same period was 47,408.39
- Total number of grievances (Please note, for disciplinary data, I only require a number, no specific details of any action instigated).
We are unclear about what data you actually require here. Although you have asked for the number of grievances, you also make reference to disciplinary data. In view of this, and to be as helpful as possible, we are providing data relating to both. The number of grievances raised in the period 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014 was 34. The number of disciplinary allegations reported and investigated in the same period was 138.
