Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding information held by the East

This response is on behalf of Colchester Hospital

1.       Please confirm the staff car park charges, that is per day or
however you charge.

Currently, staff at Colchester Hospital pay 0.15% of their monthly salary
to park at Colchester Hospital. There is no option to pay daily.

The staff car parking system will be changing in January 2019.

2.       Please also advise if the charges are the same for all staff or
is it broken down into a sliding scale based on staff salary/band?

It is dependent on staff banding – staff pay a percentage of their monthly
salary.

3.       Is the carpark owned and run by your trust? How much income was
generated by these charges for the last financial year 17/18. Was this
money put back into the hospital.

Yes, the car park is owned and run by the Trust. The income generated by
the Colchester Hospital staff parking in 2017/18 was £111,418 and this
went to Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, with all
monies put back into hospital funding apart from a small proportion, which
was used to help pay for the following;

·         Parking attendants

·         Car Park lighting

·         Barrier maintenance

·         Resurfacing works

·         Additional signage

·         Lining works

·         Creation of additional staff parking spaces

·         Parking Charge Notice (PCN) enforcement

·         Administration of staff parking charges via payroll

staff.  The Trust has offered recruitment and retention bonuses in the
past, but based on individual positions, not on a grades / level basis.

This response is on behalf of Ipswich Hospital
