Staff Adult Volunteer Recruitment
Dear Air Cadet Organisation,
Please can you provide a breakdown of:
1. Total number of adult volunteer Civilian Instructors
2. Total number of adult volunteer NCOs
3. Total number of adult volunteer Officers
And their approximate role (Squadron, Wing, etc) in the Air Training Corps (not CCF(RAF)), for each of the years from 2006 to 2011 inclusive, in digital format.
If this request exceeds the cost limit then please reduce the scope to 2008 to 2011 inclusive. If this still exceeds the limit, then reduce the scope to only volunteers at Squadron level.
Yours faithfully,
Clyde Whiting

Dear Air-DRes Sec-ParliBusiness (MULTIUSER),
You state that:
"Since 2009 the volunteer numbers are held on a live database, which updates the numbers of volunteer staff daily. The information for the total number of adult volunteers in the years 2010 and 2011 is therefore not held."
However, if the volunteer staff/numbers are now on a database then it should be simple, quick and costless to execute a query for records of staff leaving after and joining before/during a given year to get that year's total?
In response to the other requested data, you state that:
"With the remainder of the Air Training Corps, the only method to note their approximate role (Squadron/Wing etc) would be to interrogate each individual personnel record. This would involve reviewing approximately 8,500 records, based on one person reviewing 30-50 records per hour."
Is it not the case that adult volunteer records are stored on multiple databases? If so then again a simple query is all that would be needed to yield the data.
I'd appreciate clarification on these points.
Yours sincerely,
Clyde Whiting
