St Georges Barracks North Luffenham: contamination clearance pre hand-over of the site

The request was partially successful.

Dear Ministry of Defence,
I make an FOI request for data on the types of contamination required to be completed before handover, and how much of this relates to weaponry held or stored on-site, bot currently and historically.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Ministry of Defence,
Ref. FOI 2020/03367
I have been asked to clarify the request I made in respect of St Georges Barracks contamination.
# St Georges Barracks has been identified as not required by MoD
# The MoD and Rutland County Council are jointly planning the development of the site for housing/business use
# The use for housing and business premises requires the area to be free of contamination resulting from its use by MoD before the MoD hands the site over to new owners
# An undisclosed amount of testing for contamination has commenced/finished; as a result of which a certain level of contamination has already been identified
# This FOI request is to know
* what percentage of the total required testing has been done and evaluated?
* what type of contamination has been revealed?
* how much of contamination either revealed or anticipated arises from the storage in the period starting from 1940 of weapons of any nature that have been or are being held on-site?
*which organisation will be paying for the contamination clearance?
Thank you please do not hesitate to contact me if this request is not clear enough for you to reply to
Best regards
Les Wilson
