Spurious statements made in LGO formal Decision Notices

The request was partially successful.

Dear Local Government Ombudsmen,

A report dated 15 May 2017 (17 001 018) concerning Trafford Council spuriously states at paragraphs 5 and 12 respectively:

"The Council charges costs when it issues a summons."

"In addition, costs are incurred as soon as the Council serves a summons."

Req. What measures are in place to ensure inaccurate statements as above are kept to a minimum.

Yours faithfully,

J Donaldson

Foi Officer, The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman
