Dear Mohit

Thank you for your email dated 5 August about the school census. You
wrote:

I would like to see a breakdown of which software is used by schools to
return the school census to the department e.g. their MIS supplier. You
have shared this information before but didn't have the school URN.

Please could you provide this information in an Excel spreadsheet
containing the following fields:
Local Authority Number
Establishment Number
School Name
School URN
Establishment Type (i.e. Community School, Nursery, Voluntary Aided
School, etc.) Establishment Phase (i.e. Primary, Secondary) MIS Software
used Number of pupils on roll

Please provide this information from the Spring 2017 censuses.

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
 
An Excel spreadsheet containing the requested information is enclosed.
This comes from the 2017 spring school census and contains the local
authority number, local authority name, establishment (school) number,
school name, URN, establishment type, establishment phase, software
supplier code and the number of pupils in each school. It is not possible
to provide the software supplier name as this information is not held.
However, the included software supplier code contains the software
supplier name in the majority of cases.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
 
If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should
make a complaint to the Department by writing to me within two calendar
months of the date of this letter.  Your complaint will be considered by
an independent review panel, who were not involved in the original
consideration of your request.

Department, you may then contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
