Dear Thomas Hambledon
Thank you for your Freedom of Information requests, which were received by
both South Oxfordshire District Council and Vale of White Horse District
Council, logged under FOI 23/666 South and 23/569 Vale. Please note that
the two councils operate as a shared service hence this joint response.
Under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 2000 Act) you
are entitled to be informed in writing whether the council holds the
information specified in your request and, if that is the case, to have
that information communicated to you unless any of the statutory
exemptions apply. I have considered your request and can confirm we do
hold some of the information asked and I do not believe any of the
statutory exemptions apply to your request. Please find below the
information you requested (where available):
Oxfordshire operates a two-tier system of local government. Therefore, any
MUGAs and netball courts within schools which might have been open for
public use within 2019/20 and/or 2021/22, would come under the remit of
the County Council. Therefore, you would need to contact [1]Oxfordshire
County Council for this information.
Town and parish councils may also have responsibility for MUGAs and
netball courts within our districts. Therefore, in order to find out
whether they were open for public use in 2019/20 and/or 2021/22, you will
need to contact the town and parish councils directly. You can download a
list of town and parish councils along with their contact details from the
[2]South Oxfordshire District Council website and [3]Vale of White Horse
District Council website
The information provided below for questions 1 and 2 relates only to
MUGA’s that the district councils own, or own and are responsible for the
